During the summer of 1964, Ronald Eustice worked at Meredith Farm, Topsfield, Massachusetts as a student intern. Durin g the 1950s and 1960s, Meredith was the leading Ayrshire herd on the East Coast. Meredith was rivaled only by the famous Oak Ridge herd in California. The property that is now Meredith Farm has been an important part of the Topsfield community since the early 1600s. In 1946, Harry Lampert, a wholesale hardware entrepenur, purchased the farm for his son David and his wife Irma. They developed and Ayrshire cattle breeding business and maintained a large flock of laying hens. David immediatel hired Arthur G. Clark to manage Meredith Farm. Arthur Clarlk managged Meredith Farm 25 years and under his guidance it became the most respected Ayrshire herd in North America.  During the 1950s through the 1960s, Meredith showed six Grand Champion cows at the National Dairy Cattle Congress and was the home of many record-breaking cows. Arthur Clark won the 1955 Klussendorf Trophy for outstanding herdsmanship. In his final years, he wrote a 40-page autobiography describing his life and his career at Meredith. Growing up in rural New Hampshie, 1921 journey to California and finally his fulfilling trip back to California and his retirement years.
